4.5 Excellent

What can I say? It's a wonderful movie. Ash was not only stunning, but delivered a silently powerful impression, that me and my friends only talk about the lingering effect of the film. We are going to watch the film this week one more time and going to buy the DVD. The reason I'm writing this is, if I believed the Taran Adarsh I would have missed such an experience. I was fed up with the western influence in our films and this is a refreshing change.

I'm grateful to JP Datta for presenting Shabana Azmi. I saw this avatar of hers in Mandi decades ago, but this one is much more mature than that one and Azmi looks stunning in her own right.

I didn't appreciate the music prior to seeing the film. Ash just dazzled the songs and now I can't stop humming the the songs, especially Jhute ilzam. I really hoped the film continued somemore until this poor girl finds some solace some place. The director left us "pyaase".

Excellent direction. Very sensitve. The metamorphis of this young child to philosophical lady (Ash's voice modulations were wonderful) was perfect. I can't give a 5, as the film could have used a bit better editing.

I'm Rekha's fan, but let me tell you this is a different interpretation and a must watch.
