Taare Zameen Par is a movie which will make you feel sad, happy, angry, and all at the same point of time. It has the emotional capacity to make anyone howl, and it also has the capability to make one's stomach hurt with laughter. It is stellar moviemaking. It's a film, rather a work of art, meant for anyone and everyone. From the people sitting in their offices to the little 'chai-wala' in the stall near the bus stand, it is made for all. You'll be hooked from the moment the Clay-dough animated opening credits start rolling, and would't even notice when and how two hours and 40 minutes went by. It's hard to believe that it was Aamir Khan's directorial debut. I mean, the whole film boasts of the work of an artist. And you'd think Aamir had already churned out a couple of hits as a director already. Hats off Aamir uncle!! And the kid.. Oh, the kid!! He's a genuine.. He hardly speaks, yet says so much. He will have you in splits in one second and have you howling in pain the next!! A prodigy.. (Pay acute attention to the man who acted as the child's father. He'll genuinly make you hate him. An achievement you hardly find in today's villains in Bollywood Cinema. Kudos!)

Taran adarsh said everything which i wanted to say but i would like to add a few things in his review that bollywood should learn from this film that if you have a good director and if you have a good team, there is no need of a huge budget for any film to be a boxoffice champion. with this film Aamir khan proves that the perfectionist is not just a tag with his name but he is truly a perfectionist. i have seen so much movies hindi and english both but i didn't see anything like this that keeps you thinking of it and i am litrally so much touched by this movie and yes as taran said it changed the way i see my kids but in conlusion i just want to say that its a masterpiece of an indian cinema direction wise acting wise and by all aspect.

The best thing that I liked about the film is that its realistic to the core. Its a film that you have to watch. Plain and simple and filled with emotions. Aamir sure is first rate not only as an actor but as a director too. However the main star of the film is Darsheel. Right from the start you can relate with the kid, his character, his family, his life and his relationships. Tisca Chopra as Ishaan's mother is first rate. She says a lot in every scene with just her expressions. The scenes between her and Ishaan are first rate. Its not a fabricated realtionship where all is larger then life and happy as ever. Its a story that has never been told before and that adds to the freshness of the film. Go ahead and soak your self in a few emotions.

Although I have been a nearly daily visitor of IndiaFM for 3 years, tonight is when I actually registered, because I had to in order to share my first ever movie review on this site, in order to encourage everyone to watch this movie. I don't usually write about a movie unless its worth it, and this movie has unlimited worth. Great original story, great acting by Aamir and Darsheel, great cinematography, touching music, superb direction (by Aamir who is a debutant at it). This movie is to be watched by all parents and their kids above 8, especially when both are together. All kids are special. One cannot say that one isn't just because he lacks something the status quo is achieving. Every kid has his own speed of learning, own interest in a field he wants to go into. Parents and society shouldn't force kids to follow a status quo or society norm. Let the kid have some freedom, and before you know it, he'll be Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Walt Disney, Muhammad Ali, Alezander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison and all other famous and successful people who had dyslexia. Taare Zameen Par's music will be appreciated even more after seeing the songs on screen. Doesn't look like any song is forced in. All are very attached to the script. Some very tear jerking scenes. Three where I personally cried was when Darsheel's sent to boarding school and bond with his mum, scenes from boarding school where he's having a hard time and the finale. Great direction by Aamir, taking the most he can from Darsheel, who's done an acting which deserves the Best Actor Award. If Aamir had wished, he could've produced a movie which would gain maximum audience numbers and money, by having pretty revealing actresses, item songs, romantic triangle, action packed sequences , etc. He didn't, and he does what he always does, gives us movies once a year and rarely, but when does, gives us material that isn't only entertaining, but thought provoking, educating and deeply vivid and personal. A movie you yourself can relate to, no matter who you are, and not larger than life.
