Any one who wants to give this 5 and Bachna Ae Haseeno 2.5 or 3 is crazy with no taste of music. Farhan is just another Himesh when it comes to singing. Rock On!! title song was great, but it comes nowhere to BAH. This album should have gone to Vishal-Shekhar for Vishal has a rock band and BAH might have gone SEL and still not do as well as VS did with it.

After quite a while of being in sync with Joginder's reviews, I have to say that he's either gone drunk, or gone mad, or both. To me, he's no longer a music critic, but rather a himesh fanboy who uses big words, though knows just as much about music as you or me. Believe me when I say, there is no way Karzzzz is better than Rock On. Impossible!!!........................................ Now, for the actual review of Rock On. I have to say its a brilliant album, and although limited by the instruments used by a standard rock band, it definitely rocks! Socha Hai is an awesome start to the album, though it takes a few listenings to actually enjoy it to the fullest extent.
Pichle Saat Dino Mein is my favorite rock song from the album, and comes with a uniqueness that you're not likely to see in India (unique lyrics, cool feel, true indian rock song).
The Title Song is accompanied with a great riff and background melody, though I can't say I'm too impressed by the lyrics (mostly the "Rock On! hai yeh ..." part). Tumhari Meri Baatein is an exceptionally good soft rock song, whereas most songs in this category fail for improperly mixing the simplicity with that of a rock (usually ending up in a convoluted mess of soft v hard). The other songs in the album are strictly ok, and fail to strike a major impact (though Tum Ho Toh comes close). However, that is still not enough reason to ignore the 4 absolutely rocking songs and some of the other decent ones. All in All, this is an album you need to have!

Keep it up shankar Ehsaan Loy...mind blowing...Every songs are amazing. It is hard to decide which one i would like to listen more..... socha hai, tum ho toh, rock on, yeh tumhari mere baatein...are such amazing soundtrack

well have to say after long time i have heard a beautiful song by female ... it has to be Phir Dekhiye ... though pichle saat dinon stands at top ...
also got appreciate farhan akhtar ... he seems perfect as a vocalist and he has also sang the songs in the album ... arjun rampal is looking the best in this movie as a guitar lead ...
one thing i would have liked to see saif ali khan instead of purab ... common saif is the one in bollywood who really plays guitar and also sings at concerts ....
all said and done this movie gonna be a turning point in bollywood ...

Guys this Album Kicks A!! would give 5 starts to it. Well you can only expect a CRAP music review for a ROCK/Metal album from a person with a name like Joginder Tuteja and definitely names like Bruce Dickenson, Dave Mustaine, James Headfield are alien to him, i guess he is best suited to write music reviews for Dharmesh Darshan / Nadeem Shravan films he's not even fit to appreciate Rahman sahabs music... he is definitely one of the snakes that The song Zahreely is talking about yes the Society is full of Bad elements (Snakes) Politicians, Police, may be ure neighbour next door or even a relative... Guys this Song is great could have never imagined a hindi film would churn out such a great Metal songs only Farhan can do it...if ure into metal then ud like this one Great Vocals, Cool drumming, big Guitar riffs, adrenalin pumping... Mr Tuteja needs to go for a rock appreciation Class where he would learn about Riffs, Double bass drumming, Licks, distortion guitars and above all rock is about Sticking it to the man so it has to sound lethal massive.. big noise.... The Song ROCK ON is the soul of the entire album remember Lakshya yet anther great film by Farhan, The Riff of Rock on is taken from the BGM of Lakshaya when Hritik is climbing the treacherous heights with his brothers in arms... SEL (Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy) have used this riff to perfection to create a Cult Rock song definitely destined to be a hit.
Sind bad the sailor is about chasing your dreams and never giving them up till you realise it, this is a mainstream pop rock song again good vocal rendition by Farhan, guys get your hands up and start ringing your heads to this song.
Tum Ho Tum is a rock ballad just the right one to put you lights on, cool chord progression, never new Farhan can sing so good, if you like bands like scorpions, eagles, bon Jovi then you are bound to like this song, the only drawback is that this song misses a guitar solo a November rain sort of a solo would have been great!!!
This album is definitely going to be hit with all metal heads. One needs balls of Steel to produce music like this as there are numerous people like Mr. Tuteja who won’t appreciate such music.... I can't understand how that idiot joginder tuteja review a movie's songs . he gave 3.5 to bachna ae haseeno which from my point of view don't deserve more than 2.5 or 3 . but after a long time i found some different soulful music ( tashan was also different but really bad !!!! )and he gave it 1.5 . In the end i wanna say music of Rock On is
