Sonam Kapoor showed people that she is an accomplished actress who can play drama as well as comedy (check out her performance in 'Khoobsurat'), but she really sparkles in romantic movies like this one, and she is absolutely perfect for the role Maithili. She makes Maithili a very real person, and through her we can empathize with Prem's situation, as she enables and allows the audience to experience what she is feeling right along with her. Sonam, through her character, makes that emotional involvement possible, and it's one of the strengths of the film. And like Salman with Prem, Sonam makes Maithili a character you're going to remember.'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' is a film that offers a multitude of rewards if you are simply willing to reach out and open yourself up to it.
