3.5 Very Good

This album is amazing in some places and a complete dud in some other places. Let me explain.

Aai Paapi (Tu Hai Meri Soniye) - Bhool Bhulaiya, Bhagam Bhag, Mauja Hi Mauja, Heyy Babby. Yeah it follows the same theme. But I would say it is so far the best in that track. The lyrics are good which is something you would not go out of your way to mention for other songs mentioned above. Its peppy, its catchy, its hip-hop. Its got a nice beat and not bad of a melody. I wouldn't be surprised if it were danced to more than a few times in a row at the clubs. Plus Shahid Kapoor's dance on screen makes it all the better.

Bakhuda Tum Hi Ho - I am a huge Atif Aslam fan! His powerful voice resonates as he gives a loud "Tum Hi Ho" with the electric guitars riffing up in the background. It inevitably reminds you of Pehli Nazar Mein from Race but thats just the feel of the song. It has a completely different tune. A nice surprise in the song is Alka Yagnik whose voice also gels on those long high notes against the background of the orchestra.

Is This Love (Kahin Naa Lage) - One song comes to mind: Tum Se Hi. If you liked Tum Se Hi from Jab We Met, you will like this song also. Same singer too! Mohit Chauhan rough textured voice gives a its own touch to the song and it has soft romantic melody feel to it. The American high-pitch crooning of "Is This Love" combined with normal voiced Mohit Chauhan's "Maine naa jaana ahahahaha" gives it a feel similar to "Mitwa" from KANK. Yet, its completely different tune give it the certificate of "originality" and therefore makes it a great song.

Now the down falls - Move Your Body Now by Hard Kaur. HUH? What did she sing last year? Move Your Body from Johnny Gaddar. Oh... she added the word "Now." That makes it totally different. The only thing going for this song is its hip-hop otherwise this is one of the two songs that actually sounds like a been there heard that song. I mean its okay to hear once in a while - but cannot say it is another highlight of the album - NO WAY! It sounds the same not different. The song Aai Paapi sounds different and is different with its melody and variety of instruments.

Soniye Ve - There is a list of about 50 other Sonu Nigam sung Punjabi songs which have the same tune and these lyrics have gotta been used at least a hundred other times in Hindi Cinema. End it man! The formula has been used up - do not use it anymore. Same punjabi lyrics, same punjabi tune, same punjabi beat. I gave this album a 3.5/5. One point has been deducted just for this song. It has nothing. Its closest previous match is with Sonu Nigam sung song - Tu Aaja Soniye (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi) and believe me - even though that has the same worn out tune - it has much more spunk to it which makes it 5-fold better than this sorry attempt for a "new and happening song." I love Pritam - but he makes mistakes. This was one of them.

Overall, some songs are good and some are not. You can buy single songs at iTunes and other websites I believe and thats where I would go to get this album. Get Aai Pappi, Bakhuda Tum Hi Ho, Is This Love, and if you would like, Move Your Body Now. If you're into remixes - get those too. But I would suggest stay away from the cheesy tunes and lyrics of Soniye Ve (Dhak Dhak Dhak).
