I finally watched this simple, and easy going movie: Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. It is an old story but new treatment. The movie works because of the freshness, and because of its new look. The movie also works because of the new talents who are simply natural. Imran Khan and Genilia D'Souza are spendid. The rest of the caracters are top notch. I loved Naseeruddin Shah; he was so funny. The climax is filmy, but it works. I remember the airport climax of Dil or Aashiqui...too emotional but JTYJN's airport climax is simply cute. Thank god not too much melodrama.

The movie has tested and often repeated story of Love mistaken as platonic friendship. You have seen it in Genelia D’Souza’s first Hindi movie “Tuze Meri Kasam”, you have seen it in many other films. A boy and girl who are studying together and are bonding so well that everyone else except themselves think as a perfect made for each other couple. After some ups and downs, they realize that they really are made for each other. So everyone has a happy ending. Cliched storyline… isn’t it? But who says one shall not make movies on such repeated story lines if they have some new ways of telling it? Haven’t Manmohan Desai made at least half a dozen movies on same story line of lost and found formula? Isn’t every successive movie of his was bigger success than earlier? As I often say in my reviews, a movie which is able to create an immersing experience for audience is a good movie. If a movie with repeat story does that, why deny it from its fair share of praise? So why do critics has to talk about the cliches and lack of innovative story? What about innovative presentation? And if they can not relate to this movie, I must say they are too old to watch it. Be young at heart and watch this movie.

Its a very well made film, a complete entertainer.Excellent direction by abbas tyrewala though story & screenplay could have been better.The locations were also very beautiful. Imran is very good for his debut film. Genelia is the best part of the film, she is such a natural actress.Ratna Pathak,Nasirudin Shah & Paresh Rawal are superb. The friends are also excellent.Music by AR Rahman is mindblowing.

THERE are movies which are filled with action-scenes, peppy numbers, top-notch effects, yet fail to make your heart skip a beat. That's the case in LOVE STORY 2050. And then, there are movies which have nothing special to offer, but manage to impress you with their simplicity. It's the same with JAANE TU YA JAANE NA... The movie JAANE TU sports many new faces, right from the director to the cast members. Every face is new and fresh, and maybe it's this freshness that makes JAANE TU work. To sum it up, JAANE TU is one of the best films to come up in Bollywood in 2008. Inspite being a moderate-budget movie, everything in the movie speaks high class. The cinematography is exquisite, music filled with young and peppy numbers that add a new dimension to the film. The dialogues are fantastic, some will make you laugh uncontrollably. The presentation of the movie is to an extent, picture perfect. The casting, as said earlier, is the best of all. Imran as Jai, Genelia as Aditi, Manjari Phadnis as Meghna, Ratna Pathak Shah as Jai's mom, Paresh Rawal as the corrupt cop, Naseeruddin Shah in a cameo (as the talking portrait) and the rest of the crew excel in their respective roles and take the movie to a whole new level. Imran Khan is a fine actor and has the capability to move further. Genelia is the best of the lot. She is the show-stealer. Her expressions are so charming, so spontaneous, that your heart instantly goes out for her. It's not an overstatement, but in my opinion, Genelia has it all what it takes to be a superstar. Till now, everything in the movie is working in its favour. Sadly, JAANE TU fails on one ground, and fails big time. Yes, i am talking about the script of the movie. The story, though immediately recognisable, is not something new for a movie that garners freshness. Moreover, the story moves at an inconsistent pace. Sometimes, it is too slow while sometimes, it keeps you glued to the screen. This is the biggest flaw of an otherwise flawless film. The movie, being 2 1/2 hours long becomes a tad lengthy at times. But, thank god, it's never boring. The climax of the film is its sore point too. It's too filmy for an otherwise realistic film. Yet, the climax deserves brownie points as it has been shot well and right. Also, there's a scene at the start when everyone is sad at Aditi's cats' death. Its these kinds of amateurish scenes that fail to make you render the film flawless.

Fabulous movie!!!! Imran Khan couldn't have picked another movie to be his launch, this movie has established him as a fabulous actor just like his mama. Genelia picked a good movie for a re-launch, and she added such spice in the movie. They both protrayed emotions that could be felt down in your stomach. All the side actors also were perfectly in place! This movie has a perfect like...reality in it!

Strictly avoidable movie if u are a movie connoisseur. Dont believe in the rating of Taran Adarsh, as he is getting his pie for misleading the public. Its erroneous to associate this movie with the genre of quality movies that gets associated with the name of Aamir Khan also he has self declared ("I want to associate my name with quality movie"). The target audience of this movie is YOUTH and this movie successfully manages to do this with some excellent music and fresh faces. Other than this, the script is same old and boring one. Its not worth spending 300 bucks on this movie. You can enjoy it later in the television (for free).

Imraan is a superstar in the making.Genillia is good as well but ik don't think she will make it in bollywood.I loved Pratiek Babber.The boy looks likes his mam and he has HER talent.I hope filmmakers will she that Quality in him.Abbas did a good job
