Ghajini! i had great expectations from this film...obviously because Aamir Khan is the main lead and his films r ALWAYS classy! First, the actors! Aamir Khan! he does a TERRIFIC job! the contrast he portrays between his two indentities [before and after the fatal incident] is truly very difficult to do! but Aamir perfects it with ease...thats y we know him as the perfectionist! BUT when the police arrest him in the girls hostel, the way he starts growling was actually HILARIOUS! also, in the end, during the fight with Ghajini, Aamir starts SNORTING! hahahaha Maybe the director told him to act like an animal and he was just attempting to stay in character! Anyway, the TRUE bright, shining STAR of the film is...ASIN! what a FABULOUS debut indeed! This GORGEOUS woman is PERFECT in every single scene...i mean she can ACT TOO! Thats a rare find for female leads nowadays! Jiah Khan is kinda hot [especially in that one song] but she cant act! Her expressions, her dialogue delivery...its all off target! She needs to do A LOT OF WORK if she really wants to make a name for herself in this industry! and the irony is that these r the type of roles she should EXCEL in! Its a simple role and doesnt require too much effort and yet, she FAILS! the man that plays Ghajini does an OUTSTANDING job! His dialogue delivery is credible n the expressions depict that hes an experienced actor! Well-done! Oh, the way he says "short-term memory loss..." made me laugh evry single time! I have a feeling that it was intentional. As for the movie, the 1st half is EXTREMELY LOVABLE! Every single scene touched u in some way or another! its mainly about how Sanjay [Aamir] and Kalpana [Asin] fall in love! the direction is simply AMAZING! but im sorry to say: the second half is a COMPLETE letdown [in the story that is...the actors were still top-notch!] the screenplay twist with the lil girls being trafficked and Kalpana saving them is utter nonsense!! but the whole sequence where Kalpana is trapped in the house and the bad guys r trying to kill her is executed EXTRAORDINARILY!! the director keeps u at the edge of your seat throughout the whole sequence! That the mark of a good director! but of course the END!!!! what a HORRIFIC way to kill the whole film! Aamir just goes thru these "gullies" and beats the hell outta bunch of fat guys! It became like a south-indian film where the "hero" turns into GOD and acquires the ability to rip off a guys leg with his bare hands and then stick it up another guys butt! Even though that sounds incredibly impossible, trust me, they make it happen! lol...Aamir has one of those scenes in this movie; when he punches a guy SO HARD that his head rotates a 180 degrees! I began to leave the frickin theatre at the point but my friends held me bac! I mean cmon guys...at that moment, i began to wonder: y the hell did Aamir even take up such a crappy movie...actually i dont even mind him taking it up [because some portions were BRILLIANT!] but he coulda made some changes and made the film EXCEPTIONAL [because thats what we're used to getting from the genius Aamir!]! but its completely ruined by the 2nd half! To sum it all up, go watch this film for its 1st half...then LEAVE as quick as possible! Dont give yourself an opportunity to become dissatisfied! To tell u the truth, screw all the [recent] "BAKWAAS" films that bollywood has been producing and go watch Slumdog Millionaire instead! U wont regret it! but dont forget to watch the 1st half of this one! ;]
