Fighting all odds and orthodox elements of the society, Alif encompasses a father’s struggle to fulfil his dream, to see his son become a doctor.
Living in a predominantly Muslim society, Hakim Raza dreams about his son becoming a doctor and the first step towards his dream is to put his 10 year old Ali in a school instead of madarsa. However, his dream turns into a nightmare as he witnesses objection from his society considering that the schools are located in a Hindu area. Trapped between people’s religious conflicts, selfish motives of the madarsa teachers and a dream that he refuses to give up, Hakim Raza decides to put up a courageous battle against the obstacles with the support of his sister who too insists on having Ali enrolled to a proper school. Will the sacrifices of the family and Hakim’s struggle lead to a fruitful and bright future of the kid is what forms the rest of the plot.
