Rana Daggubati to produce a biopic on Muthiah Muralidharan starring Vijay Sethupathi
The biopic of the internationally renowned cricketer Muthiah Muralidharan and the testing emotional journey he endured, to emerge as the world record wicket taker in international cricket will go on the floors this December. Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in Sindhubaadh and currently has close to half a dozen projects in the making, has been roped in to play Sri Lankan spin legend Muthiah Muralitharan in a yet-untitled biopic on the former player.
Actor turned producer Rana Daggubati is very excited to have Vijay Sethupathi on board and said, "Suresh Productions and I to be associated with Dar films in telling the story of a legend thru a legendary actor. Vijay Sethupathi as Muttiah Muralidharan coming soon.”
The film will be directed by M.S Sripathy and produced by Suresh Productions and co-produced by DAR Media Pvt LTD. Interestingly Rana And Suresh Productions have been known to back interesting content driven films their latest outing being the blockbuster Oh Baby!.

On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi is expected to star in some big budget films like Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which also stars Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Anushka Shetty, and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
