Kamal Haasan takes the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination; encourages others to get vaccinated immediately
The second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in India began on March 1. Now, the who's who of the country are actively participating in the drive and are sharing videos of them taking the vaccination in order to encourage the citizens to follow suit. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan is the latest celebrity to take the COVID shot.
On Tuesday, Kamal Haasan took to his social media handle and shared a video of him taking the shot. "Sri Ramachandra Hospital I got vaccinated. Everyone who cares not just about themselves but also about others should get the vaccination immediately. Today immunization of body, next month vaccination against corruption. Get ready (sic),” he captioned the post.
The corruption part in his caption referred to the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections on April 6. The actor's political party Makkal Needhi Maiam will be contesting the state elections.
Meanwhile, the vaccine is eligible for any Indian citizen aged above 60 and people who are aged above 45 and have comorbidities.
