Adivi Sesh addresses ‘this crucial stage’ of his career as he gears up for Dacoit and G2; says, “I’m not just chasing scale — I’m chasing soul”

Actor Adivi Sesh is set to take a significant leap in his career with two highly anticipated projects that promise to elevate his standing on the national stage. The actor will headline two large-scale films across Hindi and Pan-India circuits, marking a phase of back-to-back releases that blend scale, storytelling, and cross-regional appeal.

The first of these projects is Dacoit, a genre-bending action thriller interwoven with an intense and layered love story. Starring opposite Mrunal Thakur, the film is slated for a Christmas 2025 theatrical release. The Hindi-language project is positioned as a big-ticket entertainer with emotional depth, aiming to expand the boundaries of its genre.

 

Following Dacoit, Sesh will be seen returning to his celebrated espionage franchise with G2 – Godachari 2. The Pan-India spy-thriller, which is the much-awaited sequel to his cult hit Goodachari, is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. Joining him in this high-octane chapter of India’s homegrown spy universe is Wamiqa Gabbi, who will be seen in a dynamic new role that adds further intrigue to the film’s narrative.

 

Both films are being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, reflecting Sesh’s vision of creating stories that transcend language and region, appealing to audiences across the country and beyond.

 

Speaking about this crucial stage in his career, Sesh commented: “I’ve always felt that good cinema goes beyond language. With Dacoit and G2, I’m not just chasing scale — I’m chasing soul. While one is an emotional action-thriller driven by love and longing, the other is an expansive spy adventure that builds on the world of Goodachari. Both may belong to different genres and language, but they’re united by a sincere effort to tell Indian stories with a global vision and emotional depth. Teaming up with incredible talents like Mrunal and Wamiqa and working with dreamers who think as big as I do, is both daunting and thrilling. With these projects, Adivi Sesh aims at consolidating his position in Pan-India cinema but also making a determined foray into the Hindi film industry. As anticipation builds for Dacoit and G2, both films are already being counted among the most awaited releases in the upcoming cinematic calendar.
