Millie Bobby Brown calls bond with Stranger Things co-star David Harbour “really special” amid harassment allegations: “We have a father-daughter relationship”

Amid swirling reports of a bullying and harassment complaint filed against David Harbour by her, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has spoken warmly about her relationship with the actor. At the season five screening of the Netflix series, Brown described the bond she shares with Harbour—the actor who plays her adoptive father, Chief Jim Hopper—as “really special.”

“I obviously have a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship, and we do every scene together. You’ll really get to see that in season 5. It’s been so special to have him along the journey for me,” Brown told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet.

 

David Harbour, 50, who first met Millie when she was just 11, also expressed his affection for her. “Yeah, I mean, you know, I adore her and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become such great artists," he said. Harbour further reflected on their long-term working relationship, noting the unique experience of watching young actors grow up on a show over the past decade.

 

The reports of harassment surfaced earlier this year via The Daily Mail, which claimed Brown lodged a lengthy bullying and harassment complaint against Harbour before filming season five, prompting a months-long internal investigation. However, the complaint reportedly did not allege sexual misconduct, and Brown reportedly had a representative on set throughout the final season to ensure her comfort.

 

Stranger Things season 5 will be released in three volumes, starting November 26, with the finale set for New Year's Eve, marking the end of a beloved series that has become a cultural phenomenon.
