Yami Gautam responds to nepotism questions in recent conversation with Twitterati: “What happened in the past is done, we have to focus on ‘NOW’”

Yami Gautam, who started her movie career with Ayushmann Khurrana in their debut film Vicky Donor, recently decided to interact with her fans on social media. The actress, who is married to her URI director Aditya Dhar, has been busy with her OTT films and discussed about fame, stardom, nepotism, and South films with the Twitterati gang in her #AskQuestions sessions on social media. During the same, the actress responded to some interesting questions about nepotism and the Bollywood vs South debate.

Yami Gautam started her career in the entertainment industry as a model, followed by commercials, then ventured into television shows and finally landed a role in the superhit film Vicky Donor alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. It is a known fact that, unlike some of her contemporaries, the actress didn’t have any prior connections in the industry. When one of her fans questioned her if she faced any nepotism because of her non-filmy background, the actress responded, “What happened in the past is done ! We have to focus on NOW to make this place better with brilliant films & talent, regardless of our respective backgrounds! And I feel that change is definitely happening now.”

 

 

On the other hand, the actress was also asked about the ongoing Bollywood vs South debate where the latter is faring much better in Indian theatres. The fan also wondered if Bollywood films are lagging behind. Answering to it, the actress added, “There is no versus :) Any industry that is doing great is eventually great for Indian cinema ! Hindi films need to invest more time in better scripts, good actors, different visuals, stories etc We shall try our best to ensure audience feels engaged & happy in the end ????”

 

 

On the work front, Yami Gautam was last seen in the Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrit Kaur starrer Dasvi. The actress has the Netflix film Chor Nikalke Bhaaga with Sunny Kaushal, an investigative drama titled Lost as well as Oh My God 2 with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in the pipeline.
