The memory did not settle neatly into either nostalgia or sadness, but remained layered, much like childhood itself.

 

Motherhood, she shared, brought that world back to her in an unexpected way. When she became a parent, Shefali chose to recreate the same magic for her own children. Despite knowing the truth, she embraced the rituals and stories, allowing her children to experience that sense of belief for as long as possible.

 

Summing up her thoughts, she wrote, “It’s beautiful to know otherwise and still believe in magic. Magic came wrapped in ribbons, stuffed in stockings, and born from a parent’s heart—a belief that quietly stays with you even after you grow up.”
