Post his sudden exit from Jhalak Dikhhla La Season 10 due to an injury, popular ITV actor Dheeraj Dhoopar returned on screen with Color’s show Sherdil Shergill. A section of his fans loved his fresh pairing with Surbhi Chandna. However, after five months of its run, the romantic-drama serial is going off air. Speaking of the same, Dheeraj Dhoopar stated that the aim of the makers was to make something different for the Indian audience.

In his interaction with Hindustan Times, Dheeraj said, “Our time was short. From the first day, the makers and actors were sure about the concept. Our goal was to make something different for the Indian television audience. It was a new subject and new age show. We were hopeful that the show would create a benchmark. Sadly, we didn’t get the numbers and the business runs on that so they (the makers) had to pull out the plug.”

Further, he spoke about the last day of shooting, and said, “When I was told that the show would end, I was okay. But on the last day of the shoot, I felt a little sad as I get emotional about whatever I do in my life. I am sad that our show ended but every ending also means a new beginning.”

As the conversation progressed further, the 38-year-old actor recalled his trip to London (UK), when he met a bunch of people, who told him that they loved the show. “I got to play a different kind of lead on TV,” said Dhoopar.

He signed off by saying, “For me, the past year was great. My son was born in August and soon he will be six months old. In the last few months, I was part of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Sherdil Shergill too. Time just flies. Now I plan to spend lots of time with my family and also reach out to my old friends.”

For the unversed, the channel will air the last episode of the show on February 10. The cast has shot for the last episode recently. On February 1, Surbhi shared a multiple picture post and captioned it, “Last few episodes before we say bye to Manmeet Shergill.”
