Ajay Devgn shuts down rumours of owning ‘private jet’ with Kajol; says, “I was planning to buy it but….”

Ajay Devgn, known for his no-nonsense persona, has finally addressed the persistent rumours about him and wife Kajol owning a private jet. The buzz has been around for years, with many believing that the star couple enjoys jet-setting across destinations in their personal aircraft. However, in a recent episode of BookMyShow Unscripted on YouTube, Devgn cleared the air.

Dismissing the claims, he said, “No, not at all. I was planning to buy it and had secured one deal too. But it didn’t go through. So, it is not true.” With this, the Singham star put an end to the speculation that had followed him for a long time.

 

In the same interview, Ajay also tackled another piece of gossip — the claim that he was originally offered Kabir Singh before Shahid Kapoor. The actor’s brief but direct response was, “No,” effectively quashing the rumour.

 

Devgn also opened up about his general aversion to publicity and media attention. “Yeh rumour nai hai (This isn’t a rumour). Because I am an introvert,” he shared. "I believe that my work will speak for itself. You don’t need to talk too much. I have been like this since the start. Initially, people told me that I was in the wrong profession. It requires me to be an extrovert and talk about my work. But I felt that I wanted to do my work my way... Rest, it is up to God. Now, I feel jo kiya thik hi kiya (whatever I did, I believe it was the right thing)," he added.

 

Despite staying away from the spotlight, Ajay continues to make strong cinematic choices. He was recently seen alongside Riteish Deshmukh in Raid 2, which hit theatres on May 1. A sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, the film sees Devgn reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik. This time, the story takes on an even darker web of political corruption and black money, with Riteish playing a powerful antagonist. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 has opened to positive reviews for its taut storytelling and Devgn’s restrained, powerful performance. With his trademark subtlety, Ajay Devgn continues to let his films — not the rumours — do all the talking.
