BO update: The Conjuring 2 starts strong, Te3n slow

 

This week we see the release of three films TE3N, DO LAFZON KI KAHANI and THE CONJURING 2. From the three, TE3N that features Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, has been in the news of late. Reports suggest that TE3N has opened on a rather slow note with occupancy rated being pegged at 15%, while DO LAFZON KI KAHANI that features very limited morning shows is pegged at a paltry 5%. However, the Hollywood release THE CONJURING 2, that is a sequel to the 2013 release THE CONJURING has opened on a good note with a 50% occupancy rate.

 

While TE3N released across 1169 screens is expected to fare better than DO LAFZON KI KAHANI that released across 612 screens, it is the horror -thriller THE CONJURING 2 released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu that is expected to dominate the weekend. However, with no great opening for the new Hindi releases, it is last week's Bollywood release HOUSEFULL 3 that will continue to draw in sizeable crowds. It is this weekend that will hold the key to seeing whether HOUSEFULL 3 enters the Rs. 100 crore club over the second weekend or second week.
