After recording the biggest opening day for a Hindi film in India with Rs. 57 crores nett (Hindi Rs. 55 cr. + Tamil & Telugu Rs. 2 cr.) start, Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, has created another history in the overseas markets. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham the film which hit 8000 screens worldwide (Domestic 5,500 + Overseas 2,500) Pathaan has seen an immense rate of advance bookings and footfalls in theatres.

As per reports, in the overseas market of U.A.E/G.C.C Pathaan has been doing rather well. In fact, the film has managed to draw in a massive AED 5.88 million [Rs. 13.05 cr.] on its opening day alone. Given the hype surrounding the film, the wide release and the anticipation of fans to watch Shah Rukh Khan return to the big screen after over four years has greatly assisted the business of the film.

 

Going forward, trade predictions state that the business of Pathaan will continue to see growth with each passing day. In fact, with a five-day extended weekend estimates state that Pathaan could easily emerge as one of the highest-grossing Bollywood releases in this market.
