With an opening that more than doubles the second-best grosser, Sky Force that collected Rs. 15.30 crore, Chhaava has firmly positioned itself as the front-runner in the 2025 box office race. The film’s debut has also surpassed many high-profile releases from previous years, showcasing the enduring appeal of historical sagas when executed with grandeur and authenticity.

 

Several factors contributed to Chhaava’s historic success, like Vicky Kaushal’s intense performance following his critically acclaimed portrayals in films like Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur, Kaushal’s depiction of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj struck a chord with audiences. Director Laxman Utekar known for films like Mimi and Luka Chuppi, delivered a visually stunning and emotionally gripping tale of valour, coupled with Rashmika Mandanna’s pan-India appeal and of course the film’s historical relevance.
