Box Office: PK becomes second highest Opening Weekend grosser of 2014

 

Considering the popularity of Aamir Khan and PK being the last A-lister release of 2014, the film received tremendous response on the opening day and the trend continued over the weekend. This Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and Sanjay Dutt starrer which had opened to packed houses has now become one of the top grosser of 2014.

 

In the first Box Office report, we compare the Opening Weekend collections of PK to other releases of 2014. In a surprising move, PK has become the second highest grosser of 2014 by collecting Rs. 95.41 crores. The first position is still acquired by Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Happy New Year, which collected Rs. 108.86 crores. However, the weekend collections of PK managed to surpass the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer Bang Bang that collected Rs. 94.13 crore and Salman Khan starrer Kick which had collected only Rs. 83.83 crores.

 

In the second Box Office report, we take a look at the list of Top Grossers of 2014 and PK is currently in the first position on this list. The first position in the list is still occupied by Kick which collected Rs. 230.69 crores, followed by Happy New Year with a collection of Rs. 202 crores. As far as, the lifetime collection of PK is concerned, it is expected to grow extensively over the following week.
