Animal Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor starrer collects Rs. 63.80 cr on Day 1; emerges as the second all-time highest opening day grosser

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal that has been making headlines since the release of its first look poster finally hit screens yesterday. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga the film which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna witnessed an immense rate of advance bookings in the run up to its release. This wide rate of bookings coupled with positive feedback has ensured that Animal starts off on a thunderous note.

Though the collections of the film do not surpass previous release like the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan which had collected Rs. 75 cr, the first day business of Animal does manage to out beat other releases like Pathaan which collected Rs. 57 cr, KGF - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 53.95 cr, War which collected Rs. 53.35 cr, Thugs Of Hindostan which collected Rs. 52.25 cr, Happy New Year which collected Rs. 44.97 cr, Tiger 3 which collected Rs. 44.50 cr, Bharat which collected Rs. 42.30 cr, and even Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion which collected Rs. 41 cr.

 

Currently, Animal, which is a non-franchise film, and hit screens on a non-holiday weekend remains as the highest grossing Adults Only certified release that features a run time over three hours. If that was not enough, the business of Animal has managed to see stellar collections despite competition from the other release Sam Bahadur. Going forward, Animal is expected to see its collections increase exponentially over its opening weekend, with trade painting a highly optimistic picture of the film’s business.
