Harman Baweja's debut now in 2008

By Bollywood Hungama -

Harman Baweja would have to wait for his debut film to hit the marquee. His Love Story 2050 has been pushed to 2008. The film was originally scheduled to arrive in December this year. Confirms Harry Baweja, Harman's father and director of the futuristic sci-fi cum love story flick, "It has been a collective decision to bring the film in 2008. Though the film's shooting is complete, 25th April is the new release date that has been penciled in." A futuristic film - An international look Why a delay in the film's release when all this while it was almost confirmed to have Harman's debut film arrive in 2007? "Computer graphics", comes a prompt reply, "The film's subject is such that an extensive post production work is required to give it the kind of look it requires. It is best to give the film a polished treatment and only then bring the product to the audience." Where is he taking his ambitious film for getting the best of SFX and graphics? Is it going to be solely abroad? "It would be all over. We are looking at getting the best of the services from both India and abroad. The film would be getting a world class treatment." 2008 release. A wise move? In the hindsight, it seems like a wise move for the film to be now coming in April. First and foremost, there is going to be an overdose of biggies in the last quarter of 2007 with Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Om Shanti Om, Saawariya, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Dus Kahaniyaan, Aaja Nachle and Taare Zameen Pe coming one after another. Secondly, an April release would mean a clean run at the theaters once the school/college exams get over. Agrees Harry, "True. Love Story 2050 is a very young film and targets the youth segment of the audiences. This pretty much makes it a very good candidate for getting maximum eyeballs once the exam season gets over. I am sure the film would touch a chord." Films with a subject like this are expected to be quite grandeur in their setting with an elaborate look and feel. Would Love Story 2050 restrict itself to now-famous 2 hour setting or would it have a longer duration? Comments Harry, "I can't really answer this at the moment. The work is still on and it would be some time before we are able to assess the eventual duration of the film." Harman will arrive in 2008 In the past, Harman has assisted his father during the making of many a films. Even in Love Story 2050 he has been involved in all the stages during the making of the film. The film is touted to be not just one of the most expensive films produced in India but also a never seen before experience. Also, the half the duration of the film is said to be embedded with F-X. Though his contemporaries Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ranbir Kapoor would have a film to their name as 2007 comes to a close, Harman would now be the first in the list of the hottest new comers to be kick starting their Bollywood journey in the year 2008. In the meanwhile Harry Baweja is also busy in getting the release chalked out for his long delayed Speed. In the making for close to two years, the film came close to release a number of times but kept getting pushed eventually. This Vikram Bhatt directed multistarrer featuring Urmila Matondkar, Aftab Shivdasani, Zayed Khan, Sanjay Suri, Tanushree Datta, Aashish Chaudhary, Amrita Arora and Sophie Chaudhary would now finally be hitting the marquee on 19th October.
