Katrina Kaif has addressed the online scrutiny she faced over her appearance at the Ambanis’ Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, months after welcoming her child. The actor questioned the idea that women should be expected to quickly return to their pre-pregnancy bodies after giving birth and said she would rather focus on motherhood and her own journey.

Katrina discussed the criticism while speaking to Vogue, reflecting on how public opinion can quickly turn harsh, particularly when it comes to a woman’s appearance after childbirth. “We live in a world that wants to blow us around in the ever-changing winds of opinions,” she said.
The actor also addressed the criticism surrounding postpartum bodies. “I think most people are aware of what a woman’s body goes through after giving birth. And if they still choose to view that body through a harsh lens, it’s a personal choice. It can’t be blamed on a lack of information, because there is so much information out there. I just want to focus on this lovely part of my life and where I’m headed,” Katrina said.
Katrina Kaif questions the idea of "bouncing back"
Katrina also challenged the commonly used phrase “bounce back” when discussing a woman’s body after childbirth. For the actor, motherhood is not a step backwards from her previous life but something she had wanted deeply. “Bounce back? From where?” she asked.
“I have taken a step ahead to something that was a deep desire in my heart, so why would I want to go back?” she added.
Her comments come after her appearance at the Ambanis’ Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations became the subject of online commentary. Social media accounts and meme pages criticised the actor’s appearance and made remarks about her body, with some posts going as far as declaring that her career was “finished.”
Katrina says she will progress at her own pace
The actor also clarified that focusing on motherhood does not mean she has stopped paying attention to her fitness. “I am very aware of my fitness journey and where my body feels at its most energetic. I will reach there at my own pace,” Katrina said.
