Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is rewriting the December box office playbook with an extraordinary first week that has pushed the film well past the coveted Rs. 200 crore milestone. Powered by strong word of mouth and stellar weekday holds, the action-drama has amassed Rs. 218 crore in just 7 days, firmly establishing itself as one of the biggest December releases in recent years.

The film opened on a solid note with Rs. 28.60 crore on Friday, but the real surge came over the weekend. Saturday saw a healthy 15.73% jump to Rs. 33.10 crore, while Sunday delivered a blockbuster Rs. 44.80 crore, taking the three-day total comfortably past the Rs. 100 crore mark. Monday witnessed the expected correction with Rs. 24.30 crore, a drop of 45.76%, but still a strong weekday number for a non-holiday release. From there, Dhurandhar stabilised remarkably well. Tuesday grew by 17.70% to match its opening day at Rs. 28.60 crore, followed by a steady Rs. 29.20 crore on Wednesday and Rs. 29.40 crore on Thursday.
The impressive consistency through the weekdays is what truly elevates Dhurandhar into blockbuster territory. Early December, once considered an unconventional window, has now produced yet another pan-India performer with legs, following the trend set by Animal (2023) and Pushpa 2 (2024).
Trade experts attribute the film’s momentum to Ranveer Singh’s high-energy performance, strong action set pieces, and a narrative that has connected with both mass and metro audiences. With no major competition until the Christmas releases, Dhurandhar is expected to continue its dominant run and could be eyeing a Rs. 300 crore lifetime total if current trends hold.
For now, the film stands tall as one of Ranveer Singh’s biggest commercial successes in recent memory and a December juggernaut leading the winter box office charge.
