Having started his Bollywood career as early as in 1944, Dilip Kumar went onto become the 'Original Superstar' that Bollywood has ever witnessed. The way Govinda has made comedy as his forte; Dilip had made tragedy his forte then, so much so that he became extremely popular as 'Tragedy King'. In today's times, his films are no longer films as they have attained the form of thesis, encyclopedia and references for the wannabe actors in Bollywood. Films like Shaheed, Saudagar, Andaaz, Daag, Mughal E Azam, Gopi, Vidhaata etc... stand as glittering testimony to not just this fact, but also to what hard work, dedication and sincerity can do to a person.
