By Bollywood Hungama News Network, March 10, 2008 - 18:19 IST

Producer Ravi Walia's Rising Star Entertainment is on a director signing spree having signed few top directors to make films for their banner. Bollywood Hungama spoke to Ravi Walia who confirmed the news, "Yes we have signed Soham Shah (of Kaal fame) and Sangeeth Sivan (of Apna Sapna Money Money fame) to direct 2 films for us. The details of the films would be revealed in a week's time. We have also signed some other directors but I can't reveal much now."

Ravi Walia currently has three films in the pipeline De Taali, Allah Ke Banday and Fauj Mein Mauj. Talking about the status of these films, he informs, "De Taali starring Aftab, Ritesh, Ayesha Takia and Rimi Sen will be releasing soon. Allah Ke Banday, a film about juvenile crime starring Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi, Naseeruddin Shah and Anjana Sukhani would be out in May and as far as Fauj Mein Mauj is concerned, we will be re-shooting it sometime this year."

Fauj Mein Mauj starring Mallika Sherawat in the main lead role was originally directed by Murli Nagavalli but apparently is now being re-shot and directed by Sanjay Chhel. We decided to get the facts straight from the producer's mouth, "We were just not happy with what we had shot. Hence, we decided to re-shoot the film and now Sanjay Chhel would be directing the film. As for the cast Mallika , Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav still remain in the film…However we may have to find some new actors to replace the other cast", said Ravi

Didn't the original director then oppose to this move, "No we have taken a NOC (No objection certificate) from him", said Ravi.

Lastly, is it true that Rising Star Entertainment has entered into a co-production with Sahara One Motion Pictures, "Yes we have tied up with Sahara One Motion Pictures and in fact we will be holding a press conference in the first week of April, where we will be announcing a bouquet of films," signs off Ravi Walia.

With three films already in the pipeline and many more new projects to be announced Ravi Walia surely has his hands full.
