About the video
Bhumi Pednekar joins Rajeev Masand at the Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit for an honest conversation about her journey in the film industry, taking creative risks, and pushing boundaries as an actor.
As Dum Laga Ke Haisha completes 11 years, Bhumi reflects on the fearless young actor she was at the beginning of her career and why she wants to reconnect with that version of herself. She also speaks about the importance of having mentors, surrounding yourself with people who support you through difficult times, and allowing yourself to be vulnerable and human rather than striving for perfection.
Bhumi opens up about mental health, public scrutiny and online trolling, emphasising the need to remember that there is a real person behind every public figure. She also discusses how opportunities for women in films have become more limited, her experience with OTT projects, and why audiences will ultimately remember the quality of the content rather than its box-office numbers.
Reflecting on her journey with Daldal, Bhumi shares how the project came to her at a time when she needed it the most. She also makes it clear that she has no plans to stop experimenting with different roles, even when those risks don’t always pay off.
