With the recent furor Chennai Express has caused in the market becoming the highest grossing film in India, trade pundits around are summing up probable angles as to what's making the film work. Whatever be the reasons, one thing is certain, to shape an all out action masala flick like Chennai Express, state of the art visual effects are necessary and Reliance MediaWorks was one of the post-production studios roped in to deliver the VFX of the film. Navin Paul, the VFX supervisor of the film headed the team at Reliance MediaWorks to deliver 1300 VFX shots to augment the film's narrative. Talking about working on the project Navin says, "It has been a privilege and a challenge to work with Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan on Chennai Express. Apart from executing the VFX and digital intermediate (DI) process of the film, Reliance MediaWorks also worked on the standard definition (SD) telecine for the rushes and high definition (HD) color corrections for the promotional deliveries in various formats across delivery platforms.
