Universal Pictures, in association with Warner Bros. Discovery, is set to release the next chapter in the Jurassic franchise — Jurassic World: Rebirth — on July 4, 2025. Directed by Emmy Award winner Gareth Edwards, the film explores a new phase in the iconic saga with fresh storytelling and striking visuals. The cast is led by Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson, alongside Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey and Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, as the story ventures into a new direction for the long-running series.

Following the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the story moves to a remote equatorial region where surviving dinosaurs have adapted to a thriving new habitat. At the center of the narrative are three of the largest known dinosaurs, believed to hold the key to a potentially life-changing drug. Jonathan Bailey plays Dr. Henry Loomis, a dedicated paleontologist, while Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a covert operative leading a mission to extract genetic material from the massive creatures. Her high-stakes operation intersects with a civilian family’s struggle for survival after a boating accident leaves them stranded on an isolated island—where they stumble upon a buried global secret that has remained hidden for decades.

While discussing his love for the Jurassic series and how it has been a huge part of his childhood that captured his imagination for cinema, Emmy Award Nominee Jonathan Bailey who plays Dr. Henry Loomis in the upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth shared, “I was five years old when my family took me to Jurassic Park, so a slightly questionable choice by my parents, given that it was PG-13,” Bailey further said, “I remember it was kind of spiritual, not only because of the vision and the fantasy, but because it spoke to something about the modern world’s relationship to the past and nature. The characters were so vivid and so playful, the writing was so taut, and because it was Spielberg, it was a sumptuous escapist delight. And the John Williams score! How do you rank the John Williams scores? I’m literally paid to say this now, but I do think it’s number one.”
