Crunchyroll has announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle will return to theatres across India on March 6, 2026. The anime feature, which recorded significant box office milestones during its original run, will once again be screened exclusively in cinemas.
Distributed by Crunchyroll in association with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the film first released in India on September 12, 2025. For its upcoming theatrical run, the film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles. Notably, it will also be available in SCREENX format for the first time, offering audiences a 270-degree multi-projection viewing experience.
Infinity Castle serves as the first installment in a planned three-part cinematic trilogy that adapts the concluding arc of the widely followed Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series. The trilogy depicts the final battle storyline of the franchise.
Upon release last year, the film received strong responses from both critics and audiences. It ranked as the seventh highest-grossing film worldwide in 2025 and went on to become the highest-grossing anime film of all time globally. In North America, it surpassed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, ending the latter’s 25-year record as the highest-grossing international film in the region. In India, the film emerged as the highest-grossing anime title ever released in the market.
Beyond its commercial performance, Infinity Castle has also drawn awards recognition. It received a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for Best Animated Feature Film, earned a nod from the Producers Guild of America for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, and was longlisted for Best Animated Film at the BAFTA Awards.
With its return to Indian theatres, the film is expected to attract both returning fans and new viewers eager to experience the opening chapter of the trilogy on the big screen.
