The news that the Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Udta Punjab finally receiving its censor certificate made headlines yesterday evening. But what caught our attention was a detail that many might have missed, in fact we are talking about the stamp that reads ‘Passed by Hon’ble High Court, Mumbai’, as well as the names of two sitting judges of the High Court.
In what can be termed as one of the first in the recent past, the censor certificate of Udta Punjab that declares the film as suitable for Adult viewing only lists the names of SC Dharmadhikari and Dr. Shalini Phansalkar Joshi, JJ as members on the panel of individuals who have censored the film.
As for Udta Punjab, the film which tells the story of a Punjabi rockstar struggling with drug addiction is co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey the film is slated to hit screens this Friday.
