Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor had shared about their feelings and thoughts on social media after the winners of National Awards were announced. But what followed was something that they least expected – as locals around their shooting locality too decided to celebrate their win.

Readers may be aware that Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor are currently shooting in Maheshwar town located in Madhya Pradesh. The locals in this area decided to rejoice this moment with the actors as we hear they got sweets, delicacies and even two cakes for the actors to cut in order to commemorate their win. Quite obviously, we hear that the actors were touched by this sweet gesture.

For the uninitiated, Sonam Kapoor who will be seen with Akshay Kumar after their 2011 dud Thank You, will be seen in the role of a journalist in Padman. While Akshay plays the protagonist in his wife Twinkle Khanna’s debut production, Radhika Apte will be seen as his on screen wife.

The film is based on the real life story of entrepreneur Arunchalam Muruganathan who in order to improve the conditions of sanitation and hygiene facilities for women in his rural area decided to invent low cost sanitary pads and it is directed by R. Balki.
