Abhishek Banerjee has stepped down from his role as casting director at Casting Bay, the casting company he co-founded with Anmol Ahuja in 2017. The actor recently shared an update on social media, reflecting on his association with the company and indicating that he is now moving ahead with a greater focus on acting and other professional pursuits.
Sharing the development, Banerjee described the decision as the conclusion of an important professional chapter. He wrote, “Sometimes moving forward doesn’t mean leaving something behind.”
The actor also explained the journey of Casting Bay and the decision to move on from the company. He said, “Casting Bay was created by two friends with a shared vision and love for the craft. Over time, as life and professional journeys evolved, their paths naturally took different directions. Abhishek has now retired from Casting Bay and continues with his acting career and other professional pursuits.”
Casting Bay was established by Banerjee and Ahuja in 2017 and has since been associated with casting across films and other entertainment projects. Following Banerjee’s exit, Ahuja will continue to lead and develop the company.
The statement also emphasised that the decision marks a professional transition rather than a break between the two co-founders. “Abhishek and Anmol remain proud of what they created together, grateful for the journey they shared, and wish each other nothing but the very best for the road ahead,” the post stated. The note concluded with a reflection on their association: “It simply means being grateful for the road you travelled together and excited about the roads that now lie ahead.”

For Banerjee, the move comes at a time when his acting career continues to expand across different formats and genres. He has several projects lined up, including Mirzapur: The Movie and Lust Stories 3. He is also set to make his Tamil debut opposite R. Madhavan and has another project in which he will reportedly play a negative lead opposite Tiger Shroff.
Known for his work in films and streaming projects, Banerjee has increasingly focused on acting in recent years. His decision to step down from Casting Bay allows him to concentrate on his growing slate while continuing to explore varied roles.
With Ahuja continuing to lead Casting Bay and Banerjee moving ahead with his acting commitments, the co-founders are now pursuing separate professional paths while acknowledging the work they built together.
