The Ayan Mukerji-directed War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. has taken a slow start in Hindi, as very early estimates are suggesting first-day business in the range of Rs. 28 crores to Rs. 30 crores. The film has just not taken off at the box office, as the footfalls were low in the mass centers and also the urban areas.
The national chains are set to collect approximately. Rs. 13 crores on the first day, with a contribution of about 47 percent. The reports from the audiences are not positive from the morning and noon shows, and this start signals danger for War 2 in the long run. What's shocking is the fact that the first day business of War 2 is not just lower than War (2019) but also the first day business of Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
War 2 has taken the lowest start of the universe, and there isn't much hope for redemption ahead. There is a holiday weekend ahead, so there will be jumps in business for War 2 over the next 3 days, but that won't be of much consequence as a Rs. 400 crore budget film should have opened at-least 2x of the present number.
The advances for Independence Day are not big either, but it's a day that strongly relies on the walk-ins, so a jump is surely on cards - how big, is something we would know only through the day.
