Saket Chaudhary’s directorial venture Hindi Medium has done it! Starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar the film which hit screens across the border in China just 15 days ago has managed to go past the Rs. 200 crore mark. After starting on a high note the business of Hindi Medium witnessed a dip in collections on weekdays during its second week at the China box office. However, despite this slow pace of collections the film has managed to forge on out beating other releases that posed as competitors.
Now on its fifteenth day at the China box office Hindi Medium has drawn in another USD 0.42 million [Rs. 2.76 cr]. With this the total collections of the film in China have now past the Rs. 200 cr mark with the total collections being pegged at USD 30.65 million [Rs. 201.63 cr]. Interestingly, this will be the fourth release in a row following previous releases viz. Dangal, Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan that have made it past the exclusive Rs. 200 cr mark at the China box office.
But given the fact that Hindi Medium still continues to run in theatres, expectations are that the business of the film is likely to see yet another small spurt in collections this weekend. In fact, it won’t be surprising if Hindi Medium manages to cross Rs. 210 cr in the next few days at the China box office.
