Box Office: RRR (Hindi), Attack, The Kashmir Files being in around Rs. 10 crores on Monday

By Joginder Tuteja

Things are staying in to be normal at the box office, and how. On Monday, the overall collections at the box office for the Hindi films were around Rs. 10 crores, which is good enough as it indicates that at least footfalls are there on a consistent basis. Of course, last few weeks had been so high for theatres that Rs. 15-20 crores per day was a norm, given the fact that first The Kashmir Files and then RRR (Hindi) were on a rampage. Well, this wasn’t the case to be on Monday but still to have Rs. 10 crores come in is far better than what the industry had seen for last couple of years, where to get such kind of numbers even on a Sunday was turning out to be a challenge.

Box Office: RRR (Hindi), Attack, The Kashmir Files being in around Rs. 10 crores on Monday

The film that took the lead was RRR (Hindi). It did have a drop when compared to Friday collections of Rs. 13.50 crores as Rs. 7.50 crores* came in. After all, from a super hit like this, collections in the range of Rs. 8-10 crores was a given. However, this is how the film stands and one hopes that collections do stabilise today with at least Rs. 7 crores coming in, so that it can build further from Rs. 192.09 crores* that it has gathered so far.

Attack - Part 1 showed an expected drop and Rs. 2 crores* came in. Since the film had not really seen much of a growth from its low numbers of Friday (Rs. 3.51 crores), this isn’t surprising. A well made film, hopefully it will get its due from the OTT market. However at the Indian box office, it currently stands at Rs. 13.51 crores* and will fold up around the Rs. 20 crores mark.

The Kashmir Files brought in Rs. 1 crore* more on Monday and that has pushed its total to Rs. 246.03 crores*. The total is still quite good but it’s just that this is a film from which Rs. 300 crores was expected at one point in time and then the expectations went down to Rs. 275 crores. Hence, to now see the best case lifetime score of around Rs. 260 crores from the Vivek Agnihotri directed film is a little disheartening, despite it being an all-time blockbuster already.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
