The fifth instalment in the popular Pirates franchise titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge in Indian released two weeks ago. The film, which over the years has developed a fan following thanks to the character of Captain Jack Sparrow played by Johnny Depp, opened on a good note.
After collecting Rs. 21.35 cr in its opening week within the domestic market, Pirates 5 saw a drop in collections on its second weekend with just another Rs. 2.75 cr coming in. Over the subsequent weekdays as well, the Hollywood film which faced stiff competition from Bollywood releases saw a further drop in collections with a meagre Rs. 2.4 cr coming in.
With this the current total box office collections of Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge within the Indian market stands at Rs. 26.5 cr.
