Padmaavat is a Hit at the Box Office. Though there is still some way to go before the film starts making profits, the trending so far clearly indicates that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali flick is in for a healthy run, hence allowing a Hit status at the least.
This was evidenced on Saturday when the film brought in Rs. 27 crore more. Though this is lesser than Friday numbers of Rs. 32 crore, it is expected since the film is coming after the big holiday of Republic Day. Moreover, the collections are still much higher than Rs. 19 crore that the film had collected on its opening day (Thursday) and hence the trending is working out quite well already.
The film has collected 82 crore already and that is in line with what Bajirao Mastani by the same team had collected in its entire first week [Rs. 86.15 crore]. As a matter of fact that the manner in which the film is progressing currently, the entire lifetime of Ram Leela (again by the same team - Rs. 118.7 crore) would be surpassed on Monday itself. This pretty much signifies the magnitude of success that Padmaavat is now destined for.
After quite some struggle and heartburn, everyone associated with Padmaavat can now afford to breathe much easier. Of course, one can just hope that the states where the film is not playing currently lift the ban as that would allow much higher footfalls for the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer. That would add a huge number to the overall total of the film and only help everyone in the supply chain of Bollywood to gain from it.
