After its Friday collections of 4.08 crore, OK Jaanu needed a substantial jump on Saturday in order to register a good weekend. There was an improvement in collections, though not really huge, as Saturday numbers came to 4.90 crore. The film has now accumulated 8.98 crore and all eyes are on whether there would be further jump on Sunday so that a weekend of 15 crore would be a possibility.
The Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer hasn't been shunned per se. It is just that the target audience isn't quite arriving in hordes to give it a dekko. The response has stayed fair and that's about it, as a result of which the collections haven't quite sky rocketed. Sunday now needs to be really good so that word of mouth spreads further and helps weekdays to stay stable. Aditya's Fitoor had a weekend of 14.11 crore and before that his Daawat-e-Ishq had brought on 13.5 crore. Now one expects OK Jaanu to surpass at least these numbers.
Meanwhile, Dangal has jumped again on Saturday. From 1.95 crore on Friday, it has moved on to 4.06 crore on Saturday. As a result, the overall collections now stand at 365.85 crore. The Aamir Khan starrer was always expected to show good escalation in footfalls on Saturday due to its 'family film' flavor. As a matter of fact it would be quite interesting to see if fourth Sunday collections of Dangal actually end up competing with first Sunday of OK Jaanu.
Now that would be something!
