Dangal has done it in its second week that just a few films managed in their entire lifetime in 2016. The film collected around Rs. 115.96 crore more and that is simply fantabulous, especially considering the fact that most of 2016 releases struggled to bring these kind of numbers in their lifetime.
The second week of Dangal has surpassed the lifetime collections of following 2016 releases:
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Rs. 112.5 crore
Housefull 3 – Rs. 109 crore
Shivaay – Rs. 100.3 crore
Barring the lifetime numbers of Sultan, the collections are in fact pretty much comparable with the lifetime numbers of following in line as well:
M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story – Rs.133.5 crore
Airlift – Rs. 129 crore
Rustom – Rs. 128 crore
Such kind of numbers are truly and never before in history has such an incredible feat been achieved. With Rs. 9.12 cr more coming in on Thursday, the film now stands at Rs. 313.5 crore and it would be interesting to see if the film emerges as the biggest All Time Blockbuster ever (in the current era) in its third week itself by going past the lifetime number of PK [Rs. 340.8 crore]. For that, the film would have to register a third week of around Rs. 28 crore.
Well, that is definitely on the cards!
