Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion [Hindi] is set for a bumper opening at the Box Office. The film is arriving at over 4000 screens just in Hindi and that is one of the widest releases ever for a film. As a matter of fact, prior to Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion, only Khan films have seen such a widespread release and that too happened primarily during holidays [Eid, Diwali, Christmas]. Hence, for the Prabhas-Rana Daggubati starrer to see such a mega release, that too while being a dubbed affair, and moreover on a non-holiday, is a major step ahead in the right direction when it comes to making films for big screen viewing.
This is something that director SS Rajamouli too had in mind right from the time the sequel was announced and a constant buzz was created from the Day One itself. It has been a little less than two years since the release of Bahubali: The Beginning and there has been an excellent strategic marketing and promotion plan that was executed over the months to make sure that as a brand, Bahubali stayed alive in audiences memory right through this time duration.
Moreover, with Karan Johar coming into picture for presenting the film in Hindi, and Anil Thadani taking care of the biggest distribution ever for a film in India (across languages), the release is truly unprecedented. While one waits to see how do the numbers turn out in the original Telugu version (it should be biggest ever for sure, that's a given), in Hindi too the film is destined to open very huge.
So far in 2017, the biggest opening day has been earned by Raees with Rs. 20.42 crore coming in and that too on Republic Day holiday (albeit on a clash with Kaabil). Now Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion [Hindi] is set to open even bigger and go past the Rs. 25 crore mark on its opening day. It is a non-holiday Friday but then the release is much bigger than Raees owing to a solo release. Of course, the combo of Prabhas-Rana is no Shah Rukh Khan. However, brand Bahubali coupled with the fact that audiences truly want to know 'Why Katappa Killed Baahubali' should bring in Day One audiences in hordes.
