3 Good

Rehash Ram Gopal Verma’s critically acclaimed Company with Sanjay Gupta’s not so acclaimed Kaante, with high voltage action, tones of bloodshed and crisp editing – You will get a Maya Dolas special dish courtesy Apoorva Lakhia- titled Shootout at Lokhandwala… Yes it is something “hatke” from the routine entertainers that are haunting us every Friday these days, where the director has tried to tread the Ramu’s trademark D world with an attempt to spoof/glorify todays 24 hour “Jour/Generalism”.. But the similarities end there as its nowhere close to modern classics like Company or Satya…

Action packed performances from the lead are the life of the movie…Whether it is Sanjay Dutt being typecast, Sunil Shetty taking his offscreen friendship onscreen or be it the others like Shabbir, Rohit Roy or Arbaaz Khan. Amitabh is as usual personified. However if you are tired of shoddy performances from Viveik Oberoi, he will surprise you this time around with a hearty powerful performance. The makers have cast him in what he is best at – Running a “company” in the D world… 3 songs are the safeguards to cater to the masses taste…Technically movie is of a high standard and justifies its action content to the hilt.

The huge starcast, excellent publicity have ensured a great start to the film. However the bloodshed is unlikely to be a long run horse at the Boxoffice..Yes in its typical short sprint its likely to emerge a winner due to its well packaged content. Paisa vasool stuff though a strictly one time watch with No entry to the patrons of Yash Chopra type soft movie audience!!
