Shaakuntalam Movie

Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan in lead roles, Shaakuntalam is based on the Hindu mythological story of Shakuntala and Dushyant, written by the famous poet Kalidas. King Dushyant falls head over heels in love with Shakuntala when he meets her in the forest and marries her. While leaving... the forest, Dushyant gives Shakuntala a royal ring as a sign of his love for her, promising to return.

As Shakuntala ends up day-dreaming about Dushyant often, she ignores the famous sage Durvasa when he is outside her house. Feeling insulted, the sage curses her that the person she was dreaming about would forget about her altogether. When he comes to know of the truth, he modifies his curse by adding that the person would remember everything provided he saw a personal token that he had given her.

However, she ends up losing the ring Dushyant had given her, while on her way to his palace to tell him about her pregnancy. But, because of the curse, the king is unable to even remember that he ever met her. When she claims to be pregnant with his child, enraged, Dushyant banishes her from his kingdom.

Years later, Dushyant finds the missing ring, he had given her and remembers all about his marriage. The question is whether it is too late for him to know whether his kid has survived and whether he will be able to find his family?
