Sequels are no longer hot! All we gotta see in the near future is the regeneration of the caricatures of so called Legendary characters. Bourne Series,Bond Series is fine but to bear Uday Chopra trying to be the Cool Dudeand Abhishek trying to take thrown from his dad in one movie - tough to see.

So here comes another movie from RGV.Gone are his Factory days where he threw film by film on us,he is now a lone chap with a burden on him to proove his mettle at Box-Office which he is not used to. Excepting a few films his films have bombed at Box-Office and post AAG his brand has got new high.

About:

Before watching the movie the audience are supposed to assume that Shankar Nagre(Abhishek Bachan) is the new Sarkar of Mumbai.RGV begins his movie brilliantly by projecting Shankar Nagre as the new Raj,makes the old Sarkar to utter great lines about his son.Shankar has married Tanisha(his cousin) and everything goes smoothly.

Entrance of Aishwarya Rai:

Ash plans to setup a Power Plant in India worth 2 lakh crores and she needs the help of Nagre Family.

Passive Amitabh:

Subhash Nagre rejects the idea of power plant which causes people from 5 villages to suffer.

New Power - Abhishek:

Shankar Nagre feels that the plant will be helpful for Maharashtra and compares it with Door ka Fayda with Villager's loos - Nasdeek ka Nuksan.

Obstacles:

1. The plant which is supposed to be set in a village gets its first obstacle from village's head Grandson who campaigns against the powerplant.
2. Shayaji Shinde who missed the C.M chair waits for an occasion to get his due Power.
3. Vora - who wishes the plant be setup in Gujarat.
4. Others

The rest of story is about whether the Plant which both Aishwarya and Abhishek consider as their dream project finalises or not.

Analysis:

RGV tried to master himself in this movie. His technique of improvising the screenplay with his technical department(read as Music and DoP) has backfired this time because it appeared routine this time. The music which elevates Abhishek Bachan in the movie did not work here and it appeared pretty mediocre stuff.

RGV relying highly upon technical departments played a safe game here by not much exploring the characters.

The way Senior Sarkar was made passive and accepting all decisions taken by Abhishek appear ridiculous.

Abhishek's character is not properly etched as he always mentions

1. Power Plant is his dream project with no solid reasoning.
2. His relationship with Aishwarya(gash everything ruins with one bad scene by RGV).
3. His amateur decisions like not believing his men, objecting to move the plant to Gujarat.

The movie falls flat primarily because of Abhishek Bachan. He could have covered his weak characterisation with a stellar performance but Small B still remains a baby in acting. His looks are routine and appear monotonous even after listening that his wife is pregnant.

Aishwarya is a big let down. She is not glamorous and half of the time she is not aware of what's happening even though conspiracy is made behind her Plant. Her intentions towards Abhishek are not properly written(RGV hates love,he is more matured and thought that audience ko sab samaj me ajeyaga).

Her reaction when her father is dead is one of the weakest scenes in the movie.

Negative Points:

1. RGV's pretty old screenplay.
2. Abhishek Bacchan not living upto the grandeur image of his father.
3. Aishwarya
4. Routine techincal stuff - It was like they followed the same Sarkar-1 technique and audience got bored of those chants, odd angles, etc.

Highlights:

1. Amitabh Bacchan- It is clearly Big B who lived upto his reputation. His acting is flawless and his action in climax is first rate.
2. Climax - The way the story ended with a twist was good.
3. Govinda Govinda

Final Word:

There is nothing like average movie,it gotta be either good or bad.Sarkar Raj cannot be called as a good cinema as it could have been a whole better cinema had the maker etched characters properly and not mere puppets in his heavy music drama.

P.S : Leave the hall before 5 minutes coz u have to see the scene which shows the next Sarkar.

@RGV:

RGV has gone on record and said 2 points:
1. Abhishek does not die in the movie and I donno why people are spreading rumours.
2. There is no love between Abhishek and Aishwarya and Ash's character could be played by another man.
