I dont understand why critics and some people are being so negative about this film, I thought it was a perfect simple love story and I think its biggest USP for me was that it wasnt a DDLJ or a Mohabbatein. I disliked VeerZaara because it had elements of DDLJ, but not RNBDJ. Rab Ne was a bautiful film, and told in the most unique way. Aditya Chopra has a fantastic mind, for writing a gripping script and executing it in the most effective way. The best thing about Rab Ne was that the dilemma the male lead was going through, the fact that his wife may actually be in love with some one else who isn't the true personification of himself. It's a fear that many men secretly have, but not many voice it. What an idea to make her fall in love with a guy who is just an illusion, who helped her fall in love again, who helped her understand true love, only so that she can finally fall for her husband. It wasn't about INVOKING RAB in your spouse, it was whether you're as devoted to your spouse as one is to Rab. It was about having faith in Rab to tie them in a bond which was as pure as a man's bond to his creator. Technically, the film was a top notch, editing sequences for the songs and scenes were awe-inspiring, music was melodious and classical, yet foot tapping and memorable. Choreography was average, but suited the songs, Haule Haule was executed with great care, as well as Phir milenge chalte chalte. Visualization was perfect, costume designing fitted the script, Vinay Pathak was creatively dressed and Raj's character was rightly over dressed. Dialogues were tense and gripping, SRK's three monologues were indigenious.

I am not a film critic although I get along with critics fine. Yesterday was the 17th of December which happens to be my birthday. I and a friend of mine did not not go back home for our winter break from college. And as I was waiting for this movie for a long time we happen to decide to go out and watch it. My friend is not a Bollywood buff and I am just a die hard fan of SRK. I loved the movie, every single bit of it. To my surprise my friend too loved it. It just so happens that you go out to watch a movie to get a new fresh feeling. And we had got tonnes of load off our shoulders. We had an amazing movie time.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi arrives as an apparent self-proclaimed saviour for both the recession and ethical issues plaguing B-Town. RNBDJ arrives with weighty expectations, be it the hit jodi of Adi-SRK, the debut of Anuskha Sharma or even the fact that Yash Raj so desperately craves a hit to savour itself from earning the same tag as PNC or Baweja films. Unfortunately, RNBDJ is bland, boring and unsensational, much unlike Adi's previous works. Each and every scene seems tedious to watch and this is where the low use of background music is to blame. Nothing apart from the beautifully shot locales or dance sequence leave an impact - even Salim-Sulaiman's music (apart from dance pe chance) disappoints BIG time. Like one rightly said, the only thing worse than a bad film is a boring film...and this is where RNBDJ settles itself amongst Yuvvraaj, which was also a very slow film. In the end, it is only the cameos given by Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukherjee which make you sit up and go gaga. RNBDJ suffers from a hackneyed script. The story is lame and cheesy, especially when bold films such as FASHION, DOSTANA, RACE, JODHAA AKBAR and A WEDNESDAY are becoming hits. The editing, sucks too, and even SRK saab's amazing performance and Anushka Sharma's confident delivery couldn't stop this already damned ship from sinking. It seemed as though Adi, fearing for his production company, stepped in as director and jotted down a few notes which then got made into a film. RNBDJ may appeal to the older audience who would love to see the absence of young couples sporting designer wear and stripping off their clothes - but RNBDJ is like a setback on Bollywood's progress. We are on the way to become Hollywood's equivalent, and films which are almost too decent, like RNBDJ for example, are a step backwards. Also, if Chopra wanted to make a decent family film, then at least make it interesting, at least improve the script or story so that at least something appeals to the youth? Performances and cinematography are top-notch however. Every scene looks lush and SRK with Anushka is definitely, like the title says, a Match made in heaven.

Surinder Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) - a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power,…
Surinder Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) - a simple, clean hearted, honest man working for Punjab Power, leading a humdrum life, when he meets his total opposite and finds love in the flamboyant, fun-loving, vivacious - Taani (Anushka Sharma) for whom the whole world is her canvas and she paints her own life with the colours of rainbow all until unforeseen circumstances changes it all and brings them together. So what went wrong with this SRK flick? The first half was pretty well, in-fact the starting hour of the movie was quite sweet. But just before the interval, the movie turns into a pathetic emotional stuff. All the SRK movies earlier within a year or two, have been quite entertaining, but in case of RNBDJ, it's only the first hour of the movie & then the movie goes in it's own undefined path leaving the viewers quite silent & yawning till the end. The direction by Aditya Chopra is quite poor this time & fails to create the DDLJ magic. Shahrukh Khan, during the first hour of the movie, has performed in a beautiful way, which makes the character of Surinder Sahni quite lovable for the viewers. But surprisingly in the second half, even the performance by Shahrukh goes to some different track. The newcomer Anushka is fine. She has got sweet looks & has performed well. The music & background score by Salim-Sulaiman is pretty well (as usual) & adds some excitement in the movie, but still, the movie fails & disappoints. The movie has plenty of flaws & the main backdrop of the movie is, it's story. The story, just before the second half loses it's flow & then the movie too turns quite monotonous. Just watch it for the performance of SRK & if you are his die hard fan. Just average.
