Just came back from the cinemas watching Ra.One. And what can i say... i'd like to start with the line "loads of stunning special effects wasted in a movie without a soul in its story or in its direction." Yep true, this was a golden opportunity missed by the Indian film makers. Certainly, this is much better than Krrish, which was nothing but a senseless movie. Ra.One has got one thing right and that's the VFX or the special effects. Now don't get me wrong, there aren't many action scenes, but there are enough special effects. If this sounds complicated, i'd say it in simple words that you will be more than satisfied with the special effects but also you will be left unsatisfied with the amount of action sequences. No doubt the best sequence was the one in which G.One boards the train in his own style and also the G.One's entry was exciting & even the climax which has tons of animations (Good ones). The problem with the movie is that, it lacks a solid story. The story was simply rubbish which led into a totally horrifying climax. The climax was a total bizarre. The editing in the movie is also pretty bad. The suits of both the main characters were impressively designed & presented. The 1st half of the movie was quite good, but then after the interval... the movie starts going over your head. One thing is pretty questionable that, the movie is quite childish, but why there have been adult humor added in the movie & even what effect would it leave on children when they see the on screen leading child artist saying "Condom Condom"? If you want to add adult humor in the movie, then make the script of the movie for adults too! Though some of the funny scenes make you laugh.The performances, well, there's only scope for Shahrukh Khan in the movie & everyone merely has any role. The background score is not effective at all. Also the cameo performances by Rajinikanth, Priyanka Chopra & Sanjay Dutt takes the story nowhere & all of them have been wasted, although Rajinikanth's presence in the movie somehow makes an impact. Apart from the stunning VFX, it has nothing exceptional. A movie which even might turn into the biggest blockbuster ever, but Bollywood still needs an EPIC superhero movie. Well this was a chance...and the makers of the movie didn't quite grab it!

The last time I slept in a theatre was NEVER. Shah-rukh Khan gets the credit for doing what the most boring movies failed to do. There are many problems with this movie - I will leave the critical dissection to the journalists/critics who earn a living out of doing that. I will look at the broader, personality related problem, which makes this movie P.One. Why were Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra,... Gurur Dutt great producers? They made movies which excited them, which brought out the best in them. Shah-rukh Khan is too much of a business man. He is not an artist. He has always been a mediocre actor at best and by his own admission. Some sycophantic critics are heralding Ra.One as path-breaking cinema for they believe that it has raised the bar as far as special effects go. I, as a viewer, am unwilling to spend 300 rupees on a Hindi movie, which is 3rd class in its effects vis-a-vis a Hollywood movie playing in the next auditorioum just because Shah-rukh Khan produced. I am happy to be branded unpatriotic for not supporting his effort. Nor am I suggesting that all Hollywood Superhero movies are good. Green Lantern is a good example of a lousy sci-fi movie. It can not be the special effects alone, which can make ANY movie good. Special effects can perhaps help the director in expressing his ideas effectively BUT those can not be the backbone of a movie. What makes a movie click is its SOUL, which the audiences connects with immediately and which does not need aggressive promotion - "A Wednesday" is a brilliant example of that.

as i m a bollywood lover want to watch every movie ,but the excitement to watch Ra.one so high that was fall down after i watch !st day 1st show..bad story written n also copied from hollywood movies.1st time a bad acting by srk.arjun is in 2nd half n not as much to see him..bad screeenplay..only good thing is vfx developement..sanjay,priyanka not needed..Rajini sir was wasted..climax was not intersted..bad thing is that our super haro g.one went to temple for worship..n here a train sequence is to stop the train ,which was even by god ganesha..only if want to watch then spend that money to giving a poor people then it worth

I am kind of sad they are not showing it in 3d in usa. I have to wait till friday but will see again. i have watched it twice. I am guessing bad ratings are coming in from srk hhaters. there are a lot. Movie really sets a bench mark for other indian film. I am proud of india for once. srk u always surprise me and today u have 100%
