There are many movies which are based on 9/11 blast and their consequences to islamic people. But this film is slightly different. Katrina Kaif's acting is better than her previous film. The film will liked by mass as well as class audience.

Well it took a really loooooooooong time for the producers and multiplex owners to shook hands. During that interval and even before that no film really made a mark at the Box-Office. The last two movies making an impact, and that too very strong ones, were Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The latter as is known by one and all was produced by Yash Raj Films. New York also is a finished product coming from this prestigious banner. Usually movies produced by Yash Raj Films have huge expectations. Will New York live up to these expectations? Will Kabir Khan succeed in his second venture after his Kabul Express flopped? Will John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif be able to carry this film on their young shoulders? And lastly, the most important question, will New York end the seemingly ‘infinite drought’ at the box-office? The answer to all those questions are yes, yes, yes and YES! New York starts off with a bang. The opening scenes show FBI officers chasing a taxi. They finally stop the taxi and discover AK-47 guns in the boots of the cab. Immediately after Omar(Neil Nitin Mukesh) is arrested as he is the owner of that cab. Though he denies having any connection with these guns, he is told by Agent Roshan(Irfan Khan) that the FBI has ‘detained’ him and that from now on he will live in that cell under camera surveillance 24*7 and that he will have no contact with the outside world, not even his lawyer! Omar’s world is turned upside down by that event. Seeing no other option Omar starts telling the tale of his life to Agent Roshan. He tells how he had met Maya(Katrina Kaif) and Sam(John Abraham) at the university campus and how these three had become the best of friends. And then occurs the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre. This is the turning point of the movie. How this tragedic event affects the life of these three friends forms the remaining part of the film. New York talks of the treatment that Muslims have been subjected to, just after the 9/11 attacks. The treatment of the subject by Kabir Khan is fantastic. Not once does the director tilt in favour of the suspected terrorist or the terrorist or even the FBI. Absolutely brilliant direction! Story by Aditya Chopra is another plus point. The screenplay also deserves a special mention. Music by Priram is alright. It goes well with the mood of the film. Unfortunately though, the film is not flawless. The climax is a bit too stretched. That’s the only minus point in that movie. Otherwise everything’s perfect! If the first part of the movie belongs to all the actors, the second part belongs only and only to John Abraham. What a superb performance by the actor! The scenes where he is tortured by the FBI officers affects you to such an extent that even after the movie is concluded these scenes remain etched in your memories. The gamut of emotions displayed by the actor in these scenes are appraiseworthy. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Katrina Kaif carry off their roles with aplomb! Irfan Khan is brilliant. The final word for this movie is that New York should not be missed under any circumstances. It’s truly a must-watch movie!

What are you guys thinking? The theme of the movie has been lifted from the following 4 English movies: Arlington Road, Rendition, Crash and Traitor. This is not an original idea. This just like a Mahes Bhatt movie only thing being borrowed theme from multiple movies. Except for Irfan Khan's exceptional acting everything else is mediocre. The movie does a good job of portraying Americans and America in a avery bad way. Kudos you guys did it again.
