This kind of movie should display the reality of life. Is it possible to seperate from the one you love for your own carrier? I think that is possible and I actually think that this really happens in our lifes. The picture displays a brand new concept what I didn't see in bollywood cinema yet. A new concept doesn't mean that the script is also brilliant because the script lacks reality. Imitiaz Ali should have written this script with reality, One of three scenes of Rishi's Kapoor past should be enough but not the should be based on the Rishi's Kapoor past. By the way I never heard from a break up party I guess Imitiaz Ali is familiar with it. Saif Ali Khan acts extremly good. Deepika Padukone looks stunning and she delivers a fine perfomance in this picture.. Rishi Kapoor is fine like always. Giselle Monteiro voice is dubbed by a standard dubber and this is extremly annoying. Why should I hire ''an actress"" Who doesn't know how to pronounce Hindi? There are enough "real" Hindi actress available why didn't he hire one of these Hindi actresses. Overall it could have been a very good movie but instead of that it is a decent movie.

This Review is the best as it is being written not to misguide people like other critics do. Well This movie is a total khichrdi of flashbacks and present scenes. The Matter of the story is weak and extended , even flashbacks in which saif potrays as a Sardar are better. Saif has done his usual acting and no special thing done by deepika thought the girl Harleen Kaur looks much more impressive than deepika. But if u r looking for a movie for just sake of it you can watch it , just this movie turned out to be a dissapointment after such good promos.

First things first... Dont expect another Jab We Met. Love Aaj Kal is a cool new flick, not as good as its promotions but definitely worth a watch. Imtiaz Ali is wonderful with his work and knows wat to do. Saif n Deepika are lovely together. The humour is excellent as is the music. The new phrase 'Mango ppl' is awesome. Dialogues are brilliant. The juxtaposing of past and present is not unheard of but it is done well. Rishi Kapoor is good, the predictable character of the elder wise cupid, but important nevertheless. Its a fun watch, parts one can really relate to if u evr hav been thru a relationship and brk up, and still wanna be frnds with ur ex.

What stands out in this movie is Imtiaz's approach to the story. After you watch the whole movie, you realize the story is something you've seen before, but the story-telling is so unique and dynamic that it gives the movie a whole new appeal. Hats off to Imtiaz for achieving that. The director does a great job to portray the two different eras and that too, simultaneously with ease. As different as the stories and the characters are from both eras, there was definitely a sense of parallelism between the two stories depicted by Imtiaz. From the story point of view, I personally expected it to be something fresh and new but despite that, the movie was a pleasant watch. Post interval, Imtiaz effectively manages to capture the audience till the end but the first half could have definitely been more riveting. Saif was great in the movie, quite a delightful performance from the nawab. Deepika was absolutely gorgeous and she definitely improved from her previous movies. I think Pritam's outstanding music, Imtiaz's story-telling, and simple yet relevant dialogues is what keeps the movie's pace flowing and helps the movie not become boring at any stage.
