Haider - Shahid Kapoor plays the whole and soul of the movie, this is definitely his best performance till date, Tabu, Shraddha Kapoor, KayKayMenon, Irfan Khan delivered brilliant performances in their respective roles. Storyline - inspired from Shakespeare's Hamlet, Vishal Bharadwaj yet creates good cinema.. After watching Maqbool and Omkara one definitely expects more, and Haider doesn't fail you, only Vishal could create such intense and violent scenes. Music - the music of Haider maybe on a low note, but the background score was excellent. Overall Haider may not be for mass audiences but definitely categorizes under good hindi cinema. Well done Vishal Bharadwaj!

“On a dark winter night, a ghost walks the ramparts of Elsinore Castle in Denmark. Discovered first by a pair of watchmen, then by the scholar Horatio, the ghost resembles the recently deceased King Hamlet, whose brother Claudius has inherited the throne and married the king’s widow, Queen Gertrude. From East to West there are numbers of crusaders who have been experimenting with Shakespearean literature in cinematic form but one person with his genuine regard for the master and his own genius stands alone. His name is Vishal Bharadwaj. With his new cinematic piece “Haider†Vishal Bharadwaj has taken his third dip into Shakespearean sea. Vishal Bharadwaj is one of very few Indian storytellers who have audacity as well as capacity to convert most intriguing concepts into 70mm format. In today’s world of Bollywood where every next director is more concerned about so-called 100Cror club, he is a loner with an ambition to revitalize Shakespearian era. He has been successful in his similar kinds of endeavors previously but this time with “Haider†he has outdone himself. In form of “Haider†he has created something which arguably “greater†than Shakespeare. Yes, it seems an outrageous claim but after experiencing his latest venture likeminded readers may agree with me on this point. What Shakespeare wrote in form of “Hamlet†was a fiction but what Vishal Bharadwaj has done is nothing but a remarkable skill of adjusting elements of Shakespearean fiction into naked reality of Jammu
