Golmaal,One Of The Best Comedy To Come Out Of Bollywood Is Loved By Each And Every Cinema Viewer. Therefore The Expectations To See Golmaal Returns Is Tripled. Also A Bigger Starcast Makes Golmaal Returns Eagerly Awaited Movie.Golmaal Returns Has A Fresh Story To Tell. The Concept Is Somehow New But The Screenplay Is Only Saddening. Though Some Gags Work But The Final Product Is Not So Convincing. The First Half Rests On tried And Tested Comic Scenes. The Second Half Is Much Better Than The First Half. The Climax Is Good. Dialouges Are Funny. Background Score Is Also Very Funny.Music Is Decent.Cinematography Is Good. This Time Rohit Shetty Comes A Few Steps Down. His Execution Is Just Fine.Golmaal Only Works Because Of The Performances.Ajay Devgan Is Superb His Comic Timing Is Truly Amazing.Arshad Warsi Is Decent However He Is Relegated To The Backseat Kareena Kapoor Makes A Good Attempt And She Succeds Too.She Is Excellent As The Suspecting Wife. The Real Scene Stealer Is Tusshar Kapoor. The Actor Takes His Mute Character To A Different Level Altogether.Shreyas Compliments Tusshar Well He Comes Up With A Splendid Performance.Celina Jaitly Is Good.Amrita Arora Is Decent.Anjana Sukhani Is Good In Her Scenes.Sanjay Mishra Is Okay.Ashwini Is Okay.Mukesh Tiwari Goes Over The Top.Murli Sharma Is Alright.Vrajesh Hirjee Is First-Rate.Sharat Saxena Is Good.Rakhi Vijan Is Fine.Farhad Is Average.Overall,GOLMAAL RETURNS Is Just An Average Entertainer With A Decent 2ND Half.It Fails To Live Up To The Standard Set By Golmaal.

Golmaal Returns is the sequel to Golmaal which released in 2006. The first part did hit business and it really wasn’t a comic masterpiece that its made out to be. Nevertheless, some of the characters in Golmaal really stood out. Tusshar Kapoor’s character is a favorite of many. Sharman Joshi, who will be most definitely missed in the second part, delivered a great performance with almost perfect comic timing. The funny trailers of Golmal Returns have succeeded in creating hype and curiosity around the movie. For Golmaal Returns, Sharman Joshi is replaced by the equally talented Shreyas Talpade. Rimi Sen is missing instead we have Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley and Anjana Sukhani to add to the glamour. Gopal (Ajay Devgan) with his wife Ekta (Kareena Kapoor), his sister Esha (Amrita Arora) and a crazy brother-in-law Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) live a happy life until one day Gopal and Lucky come across Meera (Celina Jaitley). In their attempts to save Meera from some bullies Gopal and Lucky end up spending a night with her in a yatch which becomes a fodder to Ekta’s suspicion. To escape his wife’s fury Gopal tells her about a friend Anthony Gonsalves, whom she has never heard of before. Not so convinced by his tale for his night out, Ekta invites Anthony home. Gopal somehow finds out about his wife’s plan to catch him red handed and convinces his junior Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) to act as Anthony. To add to his trouble, Anthony who lives in the address given by Gopal lands up all of a suddenl. When he struggles his way out of this misery, Madhav (Arshad Warsi) a police officer, investigates Gopal and Lucky about a dead body that was found on the yatch on the same day they spent a night with Meera. All become the prime suspects for the murder and this leads to a confusion. How the mystery is solved forms the rest of the tale. If you expect Golmaal Returns to be a fast paced roller coaster ride, filled with funny one liners, rib tickling sequences with brilliant performances by the lead stars; you probably will be sorely disappointed. Its the extremely poor script that lets the whole movie down. Some of the sequences are so poor, that its just a pain to sit through this, it really is! Also a few would probably even feel offended by some of the scenes that even goes as far as to make fun of the disabled. The first half is silly and has nothing much to offer in terms of entertainment, the pace too is quite slow. The least you would expect after a torturous first, is a better second half. And as it turned out, the second half is no better, infact in the last hour the movie dips to an all time low. Seriously, what were the makers thinking?? Coming to the music. the only song that stands out is Tha Karke. The only saving grace of Golmaal Returns is the decent performances, yet cant match Golmaal. Tusshar Kapoor is brilliant and delivers by far the best performance. Shreyas Talpade is great, as always, with his superb comic timing. Arshad Warsi is wasted. Ajay Devgan does a decent job. Kareena Kapoor looks gorgeous, acts well. Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley, Anjana Sukhani have nothing much to do except look good. The rest of the character actors, support ably. But last of all i like it.

It was dissapointing after a hilarious first part. Though the film has its own laughter moments, the overall treatment was rather dissapointing. Arshad Warsi is wasted and how can you imagin a second part without Paresh Rawal? Of the cast, Shreyas was a welcome change and Tushaar is outstanding! Ajay Devgan is passable. Entire film was dependant on the cast's performances to carry it forward, ofcourse, without any storyline.. Celina ( full worn ) in her brief stint was impressive. Kareena did not had any scope for acting and Amrita Arora.. the less said is better.. Overall, a time pass thats it!

Golmaal Returns is a hilarious movie, a complete entertainer. The expectations for this movie were really really big and in my opinion it lived up to the expectations and is a huge hit. Golmaal is not a thinking man's film, it just a plain comedy made for those who want to have a good time. Sure the screenplay is a bit weak, but the performances of Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor are great. Another flaw however in Golmaal is the fact that it does get annoying sometimes, like constant screaming that can give you a headache, but none the less the movie is very funny. The songs are alright, the best one would have to be 'Tha kar ke' and as for performances,I have already said, tusshar and shreyas were the best, the rest are alright. Overall Golmaal Return is a very funny film, that will leave you smiling.

Pros:1.Great performances by Shreyas and Tushar. Tushar brings a smile on your face with his antics. 2.Crisp dialogues are a highlight of this film. 3.Ajay Devgan essays his role very well. 4.On the whole, very funny film. Cons:1.A very weak script spoils the film. 2.Film is dragged in the second half. 3.Some characters are unnecessary. 4.Arshad Warsi is wasted. 5.Music is one dimensional. Verdict: Overall, it is an entertaining film to say the least. However, some poor editing and bad script writing are blemishes on the film. To cut a long story short, GR is NOT a worthy sequel to Golmaal-1. You can watch it, if pure humour and baseless entertainment is your cup of tea.
